How To Create AWS IAM User With Access Keys Privileges

When you create an IAM user, such users could be given certain privileges that define what they can and cannot do.

To create an AWS IAM user, log into your AWS account/dashboard.

In the search box, search for IAM and click it.

To the left, click 'Users'.

Give your user a username and  select the AWS credential type you wish to use.

'Access Key - Programmatic' generates access key id and secret access key that you can use to access AWS CLI, API, SDK and other developmental tools programmatically.

Click 'Next:Permissions', then click the 'Attach existing policies directly' tab. Select the permissions you wish to assign to the user from here.

If there's an existing user from which you wish to copy policies to this user, click the second (middle) tab that corresponds to this instead.

If you wish to add this user to a group, click the 'Add user to group' tab.

Next, you can add descriptive tags to this user.

When done, click 'Next:Review' then 'Create User'. This should create your user with the access key id and secret access key.
