How To Block Internet Access Of Any Website, App, Keyword On Mobile Phone Or Android Device


It may be necessary to block certain websites on your phone or android device.

Phishing websites, websites containing malware, or those changing your browser's homepage or redirecting your browser to websites you didn't originally intend to visit are examples.

To start with, head on to the Google play store and install BlockSite. 

Once you have installed it, open the app and agree to the agreements and grant device access permissions to the app.

Next, you'd add the site you wish to block to the block list.

Click 'Create', then 'Create new group'. A group can contain similar websites or applications that you wish to blacklist or block from accessing the internet. You can give a group a name, colour and icon and can also modify its content at any time.

Now type the site address/URL of the website you'd like to add to the block list. You can also add applications installed on your device by searching for them here. Below the search bar is a suggested list of applications installed on your device. You can select any of them to blacklist them from gaining access to the internet.

You can also add certain keywords and categories of content to block. Keywords and category filters are pro functions of the app.

Below the app suggestions is a list of suggested websites. You can click any of the suggested websites to block them from having access to the internet.



Once you start typing the name or URL of the website, you'll also get suggestions that enable you to use what you typed as a keyword. This is a pro function that enables you to block content based on keywords.

Once you have finished typing, click on the website's domain name you have just typed to select and add it to the group.

You can also schedule or configure how long you want this content to be in the blacklist/block list. Choose the days of the week and time for the website, app, category or keyword to be in the blacklist.






Once done, click 'Next'.

Good job! You have successfully added this item to the block list. You can now customize the group by changing its colour and icon.

Various icons and colours are available to choose from. Select the one that best categorizes the group or makes you identify its content in the most easy way.

Good job! You have successfully created a group and added content - website(s), app(s), categories or keywords you'd want to block. Now the interface should look something like the screenshot below.

Now that you have blocked the website, application, keyword or category from accessing the internet on all browsers and every other way possible to connecting to the internet on your phone or device. You can test your configuration by trying to connect to the internet now, and you should see a message notifying you about the inability of the content to access the internet.

The good thing with this setup is that it blocks the content's internet access in every possible way. It does not matter which browser on your phone you use; you'd still get a blacklist message.
