How To Become A Momo Agent & Use The MTN Momo App

MTN Mono is a payment service/money management service that has been providing seamless online payment service across Africa.

The process to becoming a Momo agent and starting to use the Momo app is pretty simple and straight forward.

Follow these steps to begin:

Register as an Agent

Foremostly, you can onboard as an agent by meeting and/or fulfilling the agent onboarding requirements. Some of them include owning a physical shop, submitting a passport, means of identification and place of doing business/shop being located in a proximate, residential and/or high traffic path or environment, and the capability to provide a working capital of #20,000 and above. Once the above are satisfied, you can download the onboarding form from the official Momo website, fill and submit. An agent will visit your location to verify the information submitted.

You can also dial *502# from your phone to onboard. This method is however, not tenable as you would be directed to call the Momo customer care on 671

Download the Mono Agent App

Head to the Google Play Store or iOS store to download the Mono agent app to your device. After the download is complete, you need to sign up on the platform. 

Onboard

Choose your country and accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy. You'd do this by checking two boxes then click the 'Get Started' button.

On the next page, You'd be welcomed based on your country of choice e.g. 'Welcome to Nigeria Momo'. On this page, you must also select the type of account to sign up. You can either sign up as 'Agent' or 'Rebalancer'. We'll go with the 'Agent' option.

On the next screen, enter your phone number and click on 'Proceed'. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the onboarding process.
