You should be careful when making changes to the host file, however. Do not delete something if you don't know what its function is in the host file.

Now let's dive in on how to open, edit and save the host file.

To open the host file on your PC, open the file explorer. Navigate to the C:\ drive. Locate Windows. Open it and locate the folder System 32. Open it. Within this folder, look for the folder titled drivers and open it. Within this folder, open the folder titled, etc. Here, you will find the host file. Open it by right-clicking and choosing open with. Choose a text editing tool like Notepad, Notepad+, Vscode, etc.

Alternatively, you can first open Notepad or your preferred text editing app. When opening this application, right-click and open as Administrator. This will give you administrator privileges to be able to save files to the Systems directory.
