How To Burn Audio Files & Songs To Disc (CD/DVD) In Windows Media Player

While media files could be saved directly on a CD or DVD, when it comes to music, songs or audio files, one needs to burn them to a disk in order that they be playable in all devices.

If you like for your songs to be playable in media players like CD players, DVD players, car stereo players, etc., then the best bet for you is to have them burn to disk.

But how do you do this on a Windows machine?

 

Burning files such as audio to disk is pretty straight forward and easy. There are various programs that can do this on Windows. However you'll learn how to do this using Windows Media Player.

Windows media player comes bundled with your Windows OS, so you don't need to install any extra software to do this.

To start, add your music to a Windows Media Playlist. You'd want to create a folder for the songs you wish to burn. 

Insert a blank CD into the CD/DVD drive. In order to burn files to a disk, your CD/DVD drive must be a writer. A DVD writer is one that enables you to burn CDs and DVDs.

If you drive is a non writer, you simply cannot burn disks with it.

Arrange the songs in order of the tracks. To do this, simply add numbers in ascending order before the track title.

Once the songs are imported into a Windows Media Playlist, within Windows media player, towards the upper right corner, there are three tabs: Burn, Play, & Sync.

Click the 'Burn' tab. Once there, select the songs or audio files you wish to burn to disk and drag them to the burn list.

Now the next step is to click 'Start burn'. This will start burning the files to disk. At anytime, you can remove all files from the burn list by clicking 'clear list'.

Now wait for the audio files to be burned to disk.
