How To Link Your Phone (Android & iPhone) And Windows PC



Linking your android phone and Windows PC is a very handy and important thing to do in the present dispensation where information sharing has become very vital to one's day-to-day activities.

In the past, people have relied on various methods like using USB connection to share data between computers and phones, using Xender, Bluetooth, connection, etc., These methods have not proven very intuitive and friendly for managing data sharing between phones and PCs hence, the need for more friendly methods.

In this post, I will share a more modern approach to connecting and linking your android phone and PC. When this is done, you will be able to access the files in your phone right on your PC. Even your phone's contacts, notifications, SMSs, etc, can be accessed and managed right on your PC.

To get started, download the Link to Windows app from the Google Playstore.

Open the app and tap on Link Your Phone & PC.



On the next screen, you'll need to scan a QR code or visit a link on your computer which would open the phones app on your computer. Visit https://www.aka.ms/phonelinkQRC


Confirm the pop up to open the phone app on your computer. If prompted to update the app on your computer, update it and follow the prompts to finish the set up. You'd also need to go to settings to turn on phone link on your computer.

After the update is complete, click "Open" to launch the application on your computer.






After the app launches, choose your device type to continue. To link an android device, choose android to link iPhone, choose iPhone.

You'd need to input your Windows Security PIN on the pop up that appears to verify your identity.


Scan the QR code with your phone. Alternatively, visit https://aka.ms/linkPC on your phone. When prompted, open the link to Windows app, or install it. Sign in to the same email address signed into on your Windows PC.

Follow the prompts to link your phone and PC.
