Spotify For Artists: How To Claim (Verify) Your Artist Profile/Account

Spotify is one of the most popular platform for streaming music in recent time. In order to take advantage of the full benefit of Spotify as a music artiste, you need to claim or verify your Spotify for artists account.

Claiming or verification is simply a way to let Spotify know that an artiste's account on their platform belongs to you.

After claiming a profile, the artiste's profile becomes associated with your personal account on Spotify. This will enable you to have administrative rights like customizing or uploading an artiste's profile picture, etc. over the account.

Follow this simple guide to claim your Spotify for artists account:

1. Visit Spotify for artists. Click here to visit the Spotify for artists website.
2. Copy your artist's profile URL and paste in the 'What Profile are you claiming' field. You can directly enter the name of the artiste in the search box and you will see a list of artistes that bear the name imputed. Select the profile you wish to claim.
3. Spotify asks to be sure if the selected profile is the right profile. Click 'Yes, Claim it'.
4. Next, you'll choose the Spotify account you'll use to log into the artiste's dashboard. If the displayed account info is correct, click 'Yes, Continue', or click 'Change Account' to login to a different account.
5. Next, you fill in some information about yourself. Fill in your first name, last name, business email and role. Optionally enter your company name and click the "I am not a Robot" checkmark.
6. Next, you'll connect to the artiste's social media account. This will assist Spotify to verify the artiste's identity.
7. Authorize Spotify for Artists to access the artiste's social media account.
8. Optionally enter links to the artiste's website in the box provided.
9. Tick the terms of agreement and privacy policy checkmark.
10. Click submit and wait for your profile to be verified.

Verification usually takes about three business days. Once you are verified, Spotify will contact you accordingly.
