How To Open A Kuda Account (Sign Up) & Login 

Kuda is a Nigerian finetech company simplifying the process of sending and receiving payments, saving money and bills payment.

In this post, you'll learn how to create a Kuda account for saving, sending and saving money and for executing bills payments in Nigeria.

To create your Kuda account, head on to the Google play store or the iOS app store and download the application for your device. Install the app on your phone and tap the icon to launch.

Tap 'Open an Account'.

In the new version of Kuda as of March 2023, upon launching the app, you can pick what kind of currency account to open. Currently, you can open a Naira (NGN) account and a British Pound (GBP) account while UGX and GHS are to be available soon.

To open a naira account, select NGN account. The minimum requirement for opening this account type is a Bank Verification Number (BVN). To open a GBP account, you need a valid UK address.

Click 'Next'. On the next screen, click continue and allow Kuda to access your location. Click 'While Using the App' or 'Only this Time' depending on your preference.

Provide your email address and a password. The password should be at least 8 characters long and should include letters and at least a number.

Confirm the password and enter the referral code of the person who referred you.

Click 'Next' to continue. At this point, Kuda will mail you a verification code. Check your email address for the verification code and enter it back into the Kuda app. If you didn't receive the code, click 'Resend Code' to receive the code into your email address again.

Note that if it takes too long for you to enter the OTP back into the registration form, it may expire. When that happens, just click 'Resend Code' and the OTP will be resent to your registered email address.

On the next screen, you'll provide your Legal First Name, Legal Middle Name (which is optional) and Legal Last Name. You will also provide your Gender and Date of Birth.

When done, click 'Next'. On the next screen, provide your phone number and click the next button. When entering your phone number, select your country and enter your phone number in the space provided. Note that when you select a country from the available options, the country's code is prepended though, not visible. Hence, if you enter your complete phone number, you will not be able to click the 'Next' button to continue. Hence, leave out the first zero when entering your phone number.

A verification code will be sent to your phone number. Enter it back in the space provided and click 'Next' to continue.

On the next screen, you'll create a user name. This enables you to receive money from other Kuda users without giving them your account number.

After providing this detail, click next to verify and continue. If the user name is available, you receive a congratulatory message, otherwise, pick another user name that's free. At this point, you'll receive a message welcoming you in to Kuda. On the next  screen, click 'Sign In' and provide the email address and password you just created. Click 'Sign In' when done. On the next screen, you'll need to confirm your sign in. This is to make sure you're the one. Click 'Continue' and a code will be sent to your phone.

Enter the code back on the Kuda app and click 'Submit'.

Congratulations! You've successfully learned how to sign up and login to Kuda.
